FOCUS ON THE EUROPEAN UNION AND LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN
The Jean Monnet Chair “EU-Latin America and the Caribbean Relations” (EU2LAC) intends to promote and disseminate knowledge about the EU, its values and activities, particularly towards Latin America.
The regional focus owes to the increasing geopolitical value of LAC to the EU’s green transition and the design of a new international order. In LAC, the EU is often criticised due to a lack of understanding of the organisation. Conversely, knowledge of Latin America is limited in Europe. The Chair intends to fill in this gap by promoting mutual knowledge and spread it across the two regions reaching three main audiences: university students, the media, and civil society associations.
